how do you handle late cancellations without it getting awkward?

h ad a client cancel last minute today and now I’m not sure if I should still charge or just let it slide 😅 i do have a policy, but actually enforcing it feels… awkward, especially with regulars.
curious how you guys handle this without it turning into an uncomfortable convo?
